‘Lanat hai Pakistan team par Lanat’ – Fans roast Pakistan after Afghanistan beat Men in Green 2-0 to win T20I series

Afghanistan have beaten Pakistan and earned a series win in T20Is for the first time in history. They have beaten the Men in Green by 7 wickets and taken an unassailable 2-0 lead. The second game of the series was also played in Sharjah. Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat. This game was a deja vu of the previous encounter.

The Men in Green could not get going as Saim Ayub was caught by Rahamanullah Gurbaz off Fazalhaq Farooqi. Abdullah Shafique joined Ayub in the changeroom as he fell for a first-ball duck lbw to Farooqi. Mohammad Haris made 15 off 9 balls with two fours and one six. But he too departed trying to up the scoring after he was caught by Gurbaz of Naveen-ul-Haq. Next to go was Tayyab Tahir as he made a laborious 13 off 23 with no big shots.

Imad Wasim made a fighting 64 off 57 balls for Pakistan to give them some semblance in the first innings

Imad Wasim made a stroke-filled 64 off 57 balls with three fours and two sixes. Azam Khan looked all at sea as he was dismissed lbw by Rashid Khan for 1 off 4 balls. The misery did not stop there for the Men in Green. Skipper Shadab Khan made 32 off 25 balls with three fours. He was run out by Usman Ghani and Gurbaz to cap off a painful end to the innings. Farooqi picked up two scalps. He was supported by Rashid and Karim Janat who picked up 1-13 in his three overs. Pakistan ended up with 130-6 in their 20 overs.

In the second innings, the Afghanistan batters stepped up to get the job done. Gurbaz played a solid hand of 44 off 49 balls with two fours and one six. He was run out by Naseem Shah. Ibrahim Zadran made a watchful 38 off 40 balls with three fours.

The finishing touches were provided by Najibullah Zadran, who made an unbeaten 23 off 12 balls with two fours and one six. Mohammad Nabi made an unbeaten 14 off 9 balls. Afghanistan got to the target in 19.5 overs. Zadran hit the winning four for his side.
