India and New Zealand locked horns against each other for one final time for the third T20I which took place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The coin fell in favour of India, and they opted to bat. India had an early jolt in the form of Ishan Kishan, who departed for 1 off 3 balls. Rahul Tripathi came in at No 3, and played an entertaining knock of 44 off 22 balls, with four fours and three sixes. The knock from Tripathi put the pressure back on New Zealand.
India got to 234-4 in their 20 overs, on the back of Shubman Gill’s breathtaking knock of 126 off 63 balls, with 12 fours and seven sixes. On the fifth ball that Hardik Pandya bowled in the second innings, Pandya bowled a short ball that swung away from outside off. Finn Allen slashes hard at it and the edge flies to slip, it was going over the head of Suryakumar Yadav, but he timed the jump to perfection and took it with both hands over his head. The ball was rushing towards Suryakumar, and he had very little reaction time but he showed great reflexes.

He produced another superb display to dismiss Glenn Philips by taking another blinder. He also contributed with the bat in the first innings as he scored 24 off 13 balls, with one four and two sixes. This helped India get to be a big score. In reply, the bowlers were all over the black caps like a rash and never allowed them to get going. The Kiwis had to face scoreboard pressure too. Pandya took the new ball and led from the front. He picked up 4-16 in his four overs.
Arshdeep Singh picked up 2-16 in his three-over spell. Umran Malik picked up 2-9 in his 2.1 over burst. Shivam Mavi picked up 2-12 in his two-over spell. After losing the first game in Ranchi, Pandya and his troops rallied together and made a wonderful comeback to take the T20I series 2-1.
