Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai is set to lock horns with Bangalore on April 2 to start their campaign in the 16th season of the Indian T20 League. The five-time champions are surely going to miss Jasprit Bumrah in the death overs as they lack a good pacer in deaths. Ahead of their opening encounter against Bangalore, Mumbai has announced their replacement for injured Jasprit Bumrah. The team has been suffering from injuries and has lost two players due to it. However, ahead of their opening encounter Mumbai has named Sandeep Warrier as the replacement for Bumrah.

The right-arm pacer has played for the teams like Bangalore and Kolkata in the Indian T20 League. His recent performance, which includes six wickets in the last four List A games, also supports his inclusion in the team. Moreover, Warrier secured 27 wickets for Tamil Nadu in the last six Ranji Trophy games which also advocates about his recent form. Warrier has also represented India internationally in a T20I game against Sri Lanka in 2021. He had a respectable bowling performance in domestic competitions, taking 62 wickets in 68 T20 matches with an economy rate under 7.5.

It should be noted that Jasprit Bumrah is presently dealing with a back issue. He has been forced to miss several significant competitions over the past few months due to his injury. It includes the 20-20 World Cup, Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and Indian T20 League.

Ahead of the tournament Delhi also named their replacement for the injured Rishabh Pant. Delhi named young Bengal wicketkeeper-batter Abhishek Porel as the replacement for Pant. The franchise has roped in a wicketkeeper-batter for the base price of INR 20 Lakh. Meanwhile, fans react to Jasprit Bumrah’s replacement and call Sandeep a good Choice.
