KKR shares heartwarming message to Yash Dayal after he gets tonked by Rinku Singh for five sixes in an over in IPL 2023.

As Rinku Singh became the poster boy of KKR after he had smashed Yash Dayal for five sixes, the World stopped and admired for his heroics. Things, however, wasn’t too good for Yash Dayal, after being thrashed brutally. The pacer gave away five sixes in the last over and was subjected to carnage from Rinku. Dayal also conceded 69 runs in his four overs. This is the second most expensive figures in the history of IPL.

Basil Thampi leads the list as he conceded 0-70 in his four overs against RCB in 2018. After the game, Dayal was in for a sweet surprise as KKR sent him an inspirational message to get his sprits up after a tough game and day in the field.

“Chin up, lad. Just a hard day at the office, happens to the best of players in cricket. You’re a champion, Yash, and you’re gonna come back strong.” KKR wrote in its tweet.

KKR won from an improbable position when they were at 155-7

KKR were in an improbable position at one stage when they were tottering at 155-7. Rashid Khan had picked up a hat-trick and put KKR on the mat. But Rinku remained undeterred and cool as a cucumber under pressure. The left-hander got the job done for his side. Rinku and Umesh Yadav hit 14 runs in the 19th over off Joshua Little.

Then in the 20th over, Umesh Yadav took a single of the first ball. After that, it was all Rinku. He smashed Yash Dayal for five sixes and scored 30 runs in the last over to give KKR the most unlikely win. Life has come full circle for Rinku. In 2022, he could not finish a close run chase against Lucknow Super Giants. When that match ended, Rinku broke down and was in tears.

The Chandrakant Pandit coached side have been punching above their weight and have found new match winners every game. It will be interesting to see how KKR’s season unfolds from here on.
