The Bangalore Unboxing event will be held at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on March 26. Chris Gayle and Ab de Villiers have landed in Bangalore for the event. Gayle has been famous for his big hitting abilities. He made the folklore famous for hitting balls into Cubbon Park. De Villiers redefined the art of 360-degree batting and won many matches for Bangalore from unbelievable situations.

De Villiers and Gayle will be inducted into the Bangalore Hall of fame and the franchise put out a notification that Jersey no 17 and Jersey no 333 will be retired forever. The two greats had donned these number while playing for Bangalore. De Villiers has played 184 matches for Bangalore whereas Gayle has played 142 matches for the franchise.

Bangalore have reached three finals in the Indian T20 League

Bangalore will look to lay their hands on their first Indian T20 League trophy. The Bold Army has reached the finals thrice in the Indian T20 League. They happened in 2016, 2011 and 2009. The franchise has also reached the playoffs in the last three seasons. Virat Kohli stepped down from captaincy in 2021. Faf du Plessis led the side in 2022. Bangalore face Mumbai in their first game at home on April 2 in the 2023 edition of the Indian T20 League.

Kohli who was in Mumbai earlier has landed in Bangalore and has joined the Bangalore camp. Bangalore had gone the other way and retained the core and most players of their side. Bangalore also made some purchases in the 2023 auction. The most notable where Reece Topley and Will Jacks. Jacks was ruled out of the Indian T20 League due to an injury that he picked up in the Bangladesh tour.
