In big news for India, their ace of pace Jasprit Bumrah has given a sign that he is on the verge of making a comeback to the Indian side. Bumrah underwent back surgery recently and it looks like he will be donning the India jersey next month. Bumrah has been doing his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. On Tuesday, Bumrah took to social media to share pictures and videos of his bowling at full tilt in the nets there.

Here is the video:

Earlier there were reports which stated that Bumrah could make his comeback in the three-match T20I series against Ireland. Japrit Bumrah picked up a back injury in the T20I series against Australia in 2022 which was held at home. Due to the back injury, Bumrah was not part of the side that played the T2o World Cup in Australia. India crashed out against England in the semi-finals of that tournament. Then Bumrah was also not a part of the World Test Championship final where Australia beat India by a huge margin of 209 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah could play for West Zone in the Deodhar Trophy

It however remains to be seen if Bumrah will go and play domestic cricket before playing in international cricket. According to Cricket Next Bumrah could be a part of the West Zone squad for the Deodhar Trophy but there are reports that the NCA wants to keep Bumrah’s workload light at 4 overs at present. The NCA has reportedly issued guidelines that state that players have to play in domestic cricket before coming back into international cricket.

If Bumrah would be fit and rearing to go before the 2023 World Cup, then it will be a huge positive for India. Bumrah has been the strike bowler for India and has made a difference over the years for the national side with his uncanny action. With the 2023 ODI World Cup to be hosted in India, the fans will be hoping that the Men in Blue would repeat the heroics of 2011 and get World Cup glory once again.
