The match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) was a high-scoring encounter. LSG recorded the second-highest total in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Friday in PCA IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali. They made a whopping 257-5 in their 20 overs. Kyle Mayers made a cracking 54 off 24 balls with seven fours and four sixes. Marcus Stonis made a whirlwind knock of 72 off 40 balls with six fours and five sixes. Ayush Badoni and Nicholas Pooran made valuable contributions as well.

After the game, the Lucknow police posted an image on twitter which involved the stumps being uprooted when Kagiso Rabada got bowled. Many fans were quick to point out that Karma has come back to haunt PBKS dearly after what Arshdeep Singh did to Mumbai Indians in their previous game where he had shattered the stumps of Tilak Varma and Nehal Vadhera. He bowled those two deliveries right on target which was a joy to watch.

Arshdeep Singh went for 1 -54 in his four overs and had a tough day at the office

Arshdeep who had picked up figures of 4-29 against MI had a bad day against LSG. The 24-year-old went the journey and gave away a record 54 runs and picked up just one wicket. They always say that cricket is a great leveller and here is a wonderful case in point. The PBKS bowlers looked very hapless against LSG and could not get the right lines and lengths to bowl on a belter of a pitch at Mohali.

For LSG in the second innings, Yash Thakur bowled a beautiful spell of 4-37 in his 3.5 overs. Naveen ul Haq also picked up 3-30 in his four overs. Naveen could be a great backup for Mark Wood as he will miss the later stages of the IPL because of the birth of his daughter.  LSG are now in second position on the points table with 10 points to their kitty. They have five wins and three losses.

For PBKS, Shikhar Dhawan did not have a good return to the side as he scored just 1 off 2 balls before being scalped by Stoinis. PBKS have now lost four games in IPL 2023. They will hope to bounce back in their next game against Chennai which will be played at the Chepauk.
