Karan Johar didn’t want a current leading actress in Bollywood until she won him over!

Karan was sceptical about one outsider actress and her talent in Hindi films. He was very vocal about his opinion and wasn’t afraid to put it forward.
Karan Johar and Anushka Sharma controversy:
Regardless, his opinions never affected the actress and now she is one of the leading actresses in India. Moreover, she has also delivered some critically acclaimed films under her own production banner. Yes, we are talking about none other than the actress Anushka Sharma. For the unversed, Anushka made her big Bollywood debut alongside Bollywood’s King Khan Shah Rukh Khan. Her debut film Rabb Ne Bana Di Jodi was a superhit blockbuster.
During an event, Karan revealed about his scepticism about Anushka and said, “I told Aditya Chopra not to cast her. He showed me pics of Anushka Sharma and all, and I was like, ‘Are you mad? What are you thinking?’” Karan’s reservations about Anushka were evident. He also revealed that his mother noticed the newcomer’s nervousness. His mother said, “This poor girl seems lost”.
Karan further added, “And I was thinking, ‘Oh god, I will have to be nice to her, and poor thing, she doesn’t know there is no career left after this.’” Later, Karan agreed that despite his reservations he was very impressed with Anushka Sharma’s performance in the film “Band Baaja Baaraat (2010). He admitted being blown away by her stunning performance.
