India could suffer a crushing blow ahead of the World Test Championship final. Rohit Sharma got hit on the thumb during a net session. The India skipper was attended by the team’s physio after which he got back to the nets. But he refrained from batting further which could get the cricket fans in India feeling very worried. As per reports, Rohit was spotted wearing a bandage on his right arm and he has now been hit on the thumb at a very important time.

Rohit was in fact looking forward to the big event. Now it remains to be seen whether he can make it to the big match. He had earlier stated that he wanted to win 1 or 2 titles as captain. “We know what is at stake. Whoever uses the conditions really well will probably win the game. And also how they handle and adapt to the pressure to come out on top,” Rohit said ahead of the WTC final.

I want to take Indian cricket forward and win some titles – Rohit Sharma ahead of WTC final

“It will be nice if I can win 1-2 championships as captain, as and when I decide to move on from this job. Next five days will be quite challenging for us we do understand it will not be easy. We have to do a lot of things right. “I have gotten the job to take the Indian cricket forward and win as many games and championships as possible. That’s what you play for – win some titles,” Rohit further added that the Indian team were not thinking of what happened in 2021.

India will be playing their second WTC final; this time it will be held at the Oval. The 2021 final was held at Edgbaston. The Kangaroos will be playing their maiden WTC final after topping the charts when it comes to the Test rankings. Notably, the two sides clashed against each other in India recently for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India beat Australia 2-1 in home conditions then but conditions in England will be drastically different.
