‘Kaam bolna chahiye, muh nahi’ – Fans react as Riyan Parag’s ‘4 sixes in an over’ tweet resurfaces after Rinku Singh’s five-consecutive sixes against GT

In the Indian Premier League 2023 match on Sunday against Gujarat Titans, the young Kolkata Knight Riders batter Rinku Singh performed something that would be remembered for years to come. As KKR needed to score 28 runs in five balls during the final over of the game, Rinku smacked five consecutive sixes.

The ferocious Southpaw narrowly defeated Gujarat Titans by three wickets while snatching the win from their grasp in exciting fashion for Kolkata. In the meantime, a previous tweet by Riyan Parag, a batter for the Rajasthan Royals, has gone viral on social media. He wrote, “My inner conscience says I’m hitting 4 sixes in an over at some point this IPL.”

The supporters used Rinku Singh’s bravery as fodder for trolling Riyan Parag on the microblogging platform Twitter. Supporters also cautioned Riyan against using grand words before speaking on the pitch. KKR won the game against the defending champions, Gujarat Titans, by three wickets in the very last ball of the game. This is Gujarat’s first loss of the IPL 2023, whereas KKR’s second victory makes the competition between the top teams steeper.

Returning to Rinku Singh, the 25-year-old UP batsman set the Knight Riders a target of 205 runs and smashed 48 runs off only 21 balls while adding a boundary and six sixes to his total. In recognition of his excellent and match-defining batting heroics, he also received the “Player of the Match” award. In their fourth tournament game, he will now play for KKR against Sunrisers Hyderabad. On Friday, April 14, both teams will compete in this encounter at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens Stadium.

Meanwhile, Riyan Parag, who recently played his 50^th game in his home ground, Guwahati, received extra assistance from his granddad before the game. In order to show his support for the cricketer, Riyan’s granddad put on a Rajasthan Royals jersey and then took a picture. Before the game started, the team posted the unique photo on Twitter.
