‘Join as bowling coach next season’ -Fans in splits as Brett Lee says RCB is the franchise kids look up to
Royal Challengers Bangalore have had a topsy turvy season in the IPL 2023 so far. They have had great highs and some big lows. They have not been able to string a number of wins together. Currently, they are on 12 points. They had a big momentum shift when they beat Rajasthan Royals by 112 runs at Jaipur. It was the perfect game for them. There net rate took a dramatic shift from negative to positive.
To have any chance to make it to the playoffs, they need to win both their matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad and also Gujarat Titans at home where they have had a poor track record. Meanwhile, Brett Lee said a funny but inspirational statement about RCB.
“RCB is a franchise every kid looks up to. It’s a wonderful franchise”. Lee said. RCB have not been able to win an IPL trophy in 15 editions of the tournament.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have made it to three Indian Premier League finals
The Bold Army have made it to the finals three times. This happened in 2009, 2011 and 2016. They have made it to the playoffs in the last three seasons. Under Mike Hesson, they have been very good and have been stringing a number of wins, over the last three years. They have made it to the playoffs most number of times after Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. RCB have had a fair bit of history in the IPL.
SRH have had a really underwhelming season in 2023. The Aiden Markram led side will be aiming to finish on a high in their last two games. The Brian Lara coached side has not performed up to its potential. Their top order has not been up to the mark. Their Indian bowling has not stepped up and delivered. Even in their last game against LSG, they leaked a lot of runs in the death overs and were at the receiving end of Nicholas Pooran’s pyrotechnics.
RCB would want to get two wins in their last two games and give something back to their loyal fan base. RCB will want to win the two fixtures and try and get their first IPL title.
