England star pacer, Jofra Archer will be traveling with the England Lions squad to train in the UAE in November, according to a report by BBC. The Lions squad will be in the middle-eastern country to play a three-day practice match against the England national Test team before they tour Pakistan.

It’s the latest development in Archer’s rehabilitation and recovery process after he was ruled out of the 2022 English summer with a back stress fracture.

“After being diagnosed with a stress fracture to the lower back, England and Sussex seamer Jofra Archer has been ruled out for the rest of the season,” the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had said in a statement.

The 27-year-old fast bowler last played international cricket in March 2021 in an away series against India. He then underwent elbow surgery and made a comeback to county cricket for Sussex before suffering a stress fracture.

In last year’s Indian T20 League mega auction, Archer was bought by the five-time champions Mumbai franchise. Though he did not take part in this year’s edition. A few months ago, Archer had also retained his central contract with the England Cricket Team.

Archer has 86 international wickets in 13 Tests, 17 one-day internationals and 12 Twenty20 internationals. He has had two operations on an elbow along with the aforementioned stress fracture of the lower back.

The England fast bowler made history when he bowled the all-important super over in the 2019 ODI World Cup final. He ended up defending 15 runs and helped England win their first-ever ODI World Cup. He further made his Test debut later that year in the second Test of the Ashes 2019. The seamer picked up a fifer in his second Test ending with figures of 6/45.

England have missed the star seamer in the past one year and the team management will be delighted to know about his recovery with the Ashes and the ODI World Cup lined up next year.
