‘Jo jita wahi Sikandar’ – PBKS give CSK their second loss at home in IPL 2023 after a nail biting chase in IPL 2023
Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings squared off against each other at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium. CSK won the toss and decided to bat first. CSK got off to a flying start courtesy of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway. The left-right combination put the PBKS bowlers under pressure, Gaikwad made 37 off 31 balls with four fours and one six. The Maharashtrian was dismissed by Sikandar Raza. Conway continued on his merry way as he orchestrated an unbeaten 92 off 52 balls with 16 fours and one six.
Shivam Dube came and went but he made 28 off 17 balls with one four and two sixes. He was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh. In the end, CSK got the perfect finish from MS Dhoni when he sent two big hits into the stands in the last two balls off the 20th over off Sam Curran. This took CSK to a competitive total of 200-4 in their 20 overs. Conway with his 91* hit his fifth half-century in IPL 2023. The Kiwi has been providing consistent starts for CSK.
Devon Conway made an unbeaten 92 off 52 balls for CSK
in the second innings, PBKS got off to a wonderful start. Prabhsimran Singh and Shikhar Dhawan made 28 off 15 balls and 42 off 24 balls respectively. Dhawan was dismissed by Tushar Deshpande and Prabhsimran got out to Ravindra Jadeja. Atharva Taide could not continue his form from the last game as he was caught and bowled by Jadeja. Liam Livingstone came in at number four and made a rapid 40 off 24 balls before he fell to Deshpande.
Sam Curran made 29 off 20 balls with one four and one six. He was castled by Mathesha Pathirana with a searing delivery. Jitesh Sharma came in the end and made a cameo of 21 off 9 balls with two fours and one six before Deshpande claimed him with a good catch in the deep by Shaikh Rashid.
The match went on and nine runs were needed off the last over. Pathirana bowled it wonderfully with a lot of calm and composure but Sikandar Raza and Shahrukh Khan gave PBKS a nail-biting win against CSK at home.

The problem I have with MS Dhoni is not the master himself, but the eco system surrounding him. Convey played really really well, but all I heard in the commentary during the second innings was the two sixes Dhoni had scored. Let it be an effort of 11 and not just 1. #CSKvsPBKS
