In Qualifier 2 of the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2023, Nellai Royal Kings beat Dindigul Dragons by 7 wickets. With this victory, NRK confirmed their berth in the finals against the Lyca Kovai Kings. In the nail-biting thriller, NRK batters Rithik Easwaran and Ajitesh Guruswamy added 33 runs in the 19th over to change the momentum of the game.

NRK needed 37 runs off the last 12 balls when G. Kishoor was brought in by Dindigul captain Vimal Khumar. The 23-year-old pacer had conceded 17 runs in his previous two overs, and the DGD skipper had faith in him. But the decision backfired when Easwaran dismantled him. In the over, Easwaran went insane, hitting three sixes in the first three balls. A single was taken in the fourth ball, while Guruswamy smashed a six in the fifth.

Here is the video:

Kishoor, who was already nervous, produced a no-ball on his penultimate delivery and had to bowl it again, which went for another maximum, and 33 runs were conceded. With this amazing batting performance, NRK needed just four runs in the final over to win the game. However, the match went to the last ball, as Easwaran smashed a six to win the game.

Shivam Singh and Boopathi Kumar helped DGD post a competitive total

Earlier in the game, the NRK skipper won the toss and opted to bowl first. His decision did go well with the team, as Sonu Yadav dismissed DGD skipper Vimal on the cheap. After his departure, opener Shivam Singh, along with Boopathi, started hammering NRK bowlers all around the park.

Shivam, in his innings, scored 76 runs off 46 balls with the help of six maximums and four boundaries. Meanwhile, Boopathi scored 41 runs off 28 balls with the help of six sixes and four boundaries. With the help of their heroics, DGD posted a competitive total of 185/5 in 20 overs. However, a nervous performance from G. Kishoor turned the game towards NRK, and DGD failed to make their place in the finals.
