Janhvi Kapoor replaces Alia Bhatt in Dhulania 3? – Karan Johar finally breaks his silence!
According to reports, Varun Dhawan and Karan Johar’s production company Dharma Productions have reunited for an upcoming Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017) sequel. Janhvi Kapoor is replacing Alia Bhatt, who portrayed the lead in both movies, according to a recent report. Karan appears to have responded to the rumour. ‘To not conjecture about the film,’ he asked the media.
Karan Johar posted on Instagram Stories on Friday, “Every morning I wake up to news that is not an official confirmation by Dharma Productions. I would kindly ask media professionals to refrain from speculating about the start or continuation of a franchise! When the time and plans are developed and realized, we will provide details! Although the enthusiasm for our upcoming films humbles us, we would much rather have accuracy than conjecture. With due respect, Karan Johar.”
Alia Bhatt gets replaced?
Karan appeared to be responding to a report from PeepingMoon.com stating that Janhvi Kapoor would be playing a new Dulhania (bride) opposite Varun Dhawan, who was also the lead in the previous two films, and that Alia would not be appearing in Dulhania 3. Janhvi and Varun starred in the 2023 movie Bawaal.
According to the portal, Dulhania 3 is also being directed by Shashank Khaitan, with the statement that the movie ‘will have a different plot and characters and is in no way connected to the previous parts’. Moreover, the report stated that preproduction has already started on the movie, which is scheduled to begin in the coming months. Varun is anticipated to begin filming the movie following his completion of Atlee’s Theri remake.
The report was released on Thursday, just hours after Janhvi Kapoor was made fun of by Karan for talking about a major project that neither of them was permitted to discuss.
