‘Jacks will perform for RCB. RCB won’t’ -Fans react as Will Jacks hits five sixes in an over in T20 Blast for Surrey

The Vitality T20 Blast has been a great tournament to watch. The performances have been of the highest standard and the games have been very close. The competition has seen many game-changing performances which has kept the fans on their feet and the tournament alive. Surrey and Middlesex played out a great game at the Oval in what was a thrilling finish. Middlesex won the toss and chose to field.

The openers gave a wonderful start to Surrey Jacks made a breathtaking 96 off 45 balls with eight fours and seven sixes at a strike rate of 213.33. In the course of that innings he hit the off-spinner Luke Hollman for five sixes in the 11th over. He just took a liking to him and hit the ball high and far which made sure it went out the ground. Hollman bowled the balls into Jacks’s hitting arc as he duly gave him the treatment.

Stevie Eskinazi hit 73 off 39 balls for Middlesex in the run chase

Jacks got support from fellow opener Laurie Evans as he made a stunning 85 off 37 balls with nine fours and five sixes. This helped Surry to get to a daunting total of 252-7 in their 20 overs. The Middlesex bowlers were belted all over the ground in a haemorrhage of runs. Tom Helm, Matin Andersson and Ryan Higgins picked up two wickets each for their side. In the second innings, Middlesex gave Surrey a taste of their own medicine. Stevie Eskinazi the Middlesex skipper blazed away at the top and scored 73 off 39 balls with 13 fours and one six. Joe Cracknell hit 36 off 16 balls with four fours and two sixes.

Max Holden was the rock for Middlesex as he smashed an unbeaten 68 off 35 balls with nine fours and two sixes. Ryan Higgins also contributed to the cranage as he struck an important 48 off 24 balls with six fours and two sixes. Middlesex were even more fearless in their batting approach as they chased down the 253-run target with four balls to spare and took Surrey for the ride and won the game with no fuss.
