‘Jack of all trades’ -Fans teary-eyed as Ambati Rayudu set to take IPL retirement after IPL 2023 final
Ambati Tirupathi Rayudu has announced retirement from the Indian Premier League. A humble lad who hails from Hyderabad has decided to step down from the Indian Premier League. The man has been a ‘GOAT’ in the IPL. He has had a cherished IPL career at two franchises Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. Rayudu always took responsibility with a smile and did what was best for the interests of the team.
Rayudu started his IPL career at MI in 2010. In that year he scored valuable runs and formed a great partnership in the middle order with Saurabh Tiwary. In all the artistic batter represented MI in 114 games and scored 2416 runs for the Paltan. The right-hander had an average of 27.14 and a strike rate of 126.16. He hit 14 fifties with the highest score of 81. Rayudu played a role in the middle order here largely. Not to forget, being the team man that he is, he also kept wickets for MI.
Here is the tweet:

Ambati Rayudu had two stints in the Indian Premier League with Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings
This wonderful selfless gesture from him helped MI to field another extra player and strengthen the composition of the side. Then in 2018 he switched sides from the Paltan to the Yellove Army. The man had a second coming under the leadership of MS Dhoni. He played a dual role for the MS Dhoni led side as he batted at the top of the order and the middle order. Rayudu did both roles with aplomb at different times.
At CSK, even though the stint was short, he made up for it with memorable contributions and sheer volume of runs once again. He played 89 matches for the Yellove Army. In his second IPL stint Rayudu racked up 1913 runs at an average of 29.89 and at a strike rate of 128.73. Rayudu hit eight fifties and one hundred for CSK. Rayudu will forever be remebered as a utility player in the IPL.
People have been waiting with bated breath if MS Dhoni will leave the IPL after IPL 2023. But Ambati Rayudu’s retirement came out of syllabus. CSK will miss the services of Rayudu and will make sure he is involved with the franchise in some way or the other in future.
Let us take a look at the reactions here:
