India Cricket Team has been under criticism in recent times. They failed to qualify for the final of the Asia Cup 2022. Also, they failed to defend 208 runs in the first T20I against Australia. In that game, the team bowled poorly and dropped a few catches. These points have attracted a lot of criticism for Men In Blue. Meanwhile, former India skipper MS Dhoni has batted for the team.

In an interview, he said that it is easy to criticize and feel that things could have been different. The three-time World Championships-winning skipper has pointed out that if the Indian players are representing their country, the opposition is also doing the same. The 41-year-old added that no player wants to make mistakes.

“Sitting on the outside, it’s always easy to say we should have played in a certain way but it’s not easy. We are representing our country but the opposition players are also representing their country too,” Dhoni said as quoted by odisha tv.

“Honestly, when players are on the field, no one wants to make any mistakes whether it’s misfielding or dropped catches,” the 41-year-old said.

I always try and get into other players’ shoes: MS Dhoni

The Ranchi-player further added that he always tries to understand why a player dropped a catch or misfielded. Dhoni also said that throwing tantrums doesn’t help the matter.

“I always try and get into other players’ shoes to figure out why a player dropped a catch or why somebody misfielded. Throwing tantrums does not help matters. There are already 40,000 people watching from the stands and crores of people watching the action on television and through other mediums. I have to see what the reason was,” he added.

Talking about Dhoni, he has led India and Chennai in numerous games. India has won three World Championships such as the 20-20 World Cup 2007, 2011 ODI World Cup, and 2013 Champions Trophy under him. On the other hand, Chennai has won four Indian T20 League titles and two Champions Leagues.
