The T20 series between India and South Africa recently concluded. Both teams shared the series as the last game resulted in a washout.  The last game was abandoned due to rain and shattered the hopes of many who had assembled at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The trophy was shared between Rishabh Pant and stand-in captain Keshav Maharaj under a light drizzle.

Now the Indian team has set sights on the England tour where they play a rescheduled Test, three T20Is, and three ODIs, starting on July 1. The Test team has already traveled to England ahead of the big game.

Speaking on India’s approach to the solo Test match, the Indian Coach, Rahul Dravid vouched for a serious approach as the Test series is on the line. The India tour of England in 2021 was abandoned due to a covid outbreak and players had to leave without playing the last test match.

India currently lead the Test series with a 2-1 margin, but the rescheduled last test is a good chance for England to draw it. Speaking to India Today on the same, the Indian coach said,

“In terms of the Test match, it is obviously going to be exciting. For us, it is a one-off Test match, but it’s WTC points. It’s a series on the line for the guys who played a part in it [last year], and they are very keen to try and win that series and do well. So looking forward to that.”

The legendary batter was joyful in hopes of a good Test match in England and said, “It’s probably a bit different to when we were there last year when England was probably a little bit on the back foot. But they have played a couple of good games [against New Zealand], and we have got a pretty good squad as well. Hopefully, it will be a good match. [I] love watching Test cricket, love playing it, love coaching it. Looking forward to it.”

India and England are going to play the rescheduled match from July 1 to July 5th at Edgbaston.
