‘It is great to be here and playing for Lancashire’ – Washington Sundar on his new stint for Lancashire

Washington Sundar will play for Lancashire in the upcoming county matches as he looks to make a comeback in the Indian Test Team

Washington Sundar was one of the most important and integral parts of the Indian Test team that traveled to Australia in 2020/21 and won the series in their own backyard for the second time. However, he has not been able to make a comeback to the Indian Test Team following his injury. He is about to begin his new stint in Lancashire and the youngster revealed that he is looking forward to playing alongside England’s great James Anderson.

The Indian youngster, when talking to the club’s YouTube channel, said that he was too excited to play with James Anderson and learn from him. He said that he will get to know Anderson’s approach to the game and do the best for the team.

“Obviously, James Anderson is a legend, he can swing the ball both ways. Looking forward to seeing him here, seeing him bowl and how he goes about his things,” the all-rounder said. This might help the all-rounder to make a comeback just as it for the Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara.

The youngster said that he would always choose Lancashire among the domestic teams on playstation and felt overwhelmed when he revealed that his dream has come true now.

“I remember playing with my Playstation and choosing Lancashire against most of the domestic teams here. It is great to be here and playing for Lancashire,” Sundar said. He also added that the team has great potential and it is full of cricketing talents that might be a big name in the future.

“It has got some exciting talents and some experienced players. I am looking forward to sharing the dressing room with them and to sharing knowledge about how cricket is played here,” Sundar said. The young all-rounder would be hoping for a great start in the county that might open the doors for his comeback to the Indian Test Team. Sundar’s last test match was in March 2021 and the youngster has been trying to make it to the team since then.
