‘Isme bhi India ki galti hai?’ – Twitter trolls Pakistan as they get whitewashed by England at their home

The third Test between Pakistan and England reached its culmination on Day 4 as England resumed their innings on 112/2 with Ben Duckett and Ben Stokes at the crease. England required another 55 runs to finish a historic whitewash in Pakistan.

Stokes began the proceedings in style scoring a boundary in just the second over of the day. Duckett also joined the party three overs later as he scored consecutive boundaries against Abrar Ahmed. The duo completed the 50-run stand for the third wicket off just 62 balls as Pakistan bowlers waited for the imminent disaster upon them.

Ben Duckett finished things in style on the first ball of the 29th over as he scored a boundary through cover point and England won the Test by 8 wickets on Day 4. As a result, the Ben Stokes-led side completed a 3-0 whitewash over Pakistan. Ben Duckett remained unbeaten on 82 while Stokes remained on 35 not out.

It was for the first time ever that Pakistan were whitewashed at their home and also lost four consecutive Tests including the last Test against Australia. Ben Duckett remained unbeaten on 82 while Stokes remained on 35 not out.

Harry Brook awarded Player of the Series

Harry Brook shined with the bat for England throughout the series as he finished as the highest run-getter with 468 runs in five innings at an average of 93.60 and a sensational strike rate of 93.41. Brook had three hundreds and 1 fifty to his name. He was also awarded ‘Player of the Series’ award for his marvellous batting.

From Pakistan, it was Babar Azam who led the batting charts scoring 348 runs in six innings at an average of 58 with one hundred and three fifties to his name.

Abrar Ahmed finished as the highest wicket-taker of the series picking up 17 wickets at an average of 27.17 and an economy of 4.73 with one five-wicket haul and one ten-wicket haul. Jack Leach finished as the second-highest wicket-taker of the series having 15 wickets to his name at an average of 44.60 and a strike rate of 71.
