On the 15th of December, Mumbai Indians announced their big decision of naming Hardik Pandya as their Captain for IPL 2024. The move seemed to be out of nowhere as not many had expected it to happen. The Rohit Sharma fans are totally devastated by the news of their favorite cricketer not being able to lead the MI from the front anymore. Rohit helped MI to build their legacy.

Under the leadership of Rohit, Mumbai Indians won the IPL title five times. In 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020, MI won the title in the IPL. Before Rohit, MI had not won a trophy in the league. That is one of the major reasons which broke the hearts of the fans. Some also believe that there has not been any communication made by MI regarding the change of captaincy with Rohit.

Following the announcement, there has been a huge outrage from the fans of Rohit. Many of them have responded to the announcement by unfollowing MI on various social media platforms. Some of the fans have been so angy that they burnt the MI jersey, cap, and flag. The fans as devastated as they are by the news and want to seek explanation for the same.

Suryakumar Yadav comes up with cryptic post

After the announcement from MI, Suryakumar Yadav reacted to a post in which MI had mentioned that Rohit Sharma will remain their captain forever. In the post, Suryakumar Yadav had commented by expressing his sadness. Later, Yadav came up with a cryptic post on his social media account on Instagram. Yadav posted a story with a ‘heartbreak’ emoji. Fans are wondering the motive behind the story by the star batter.

Many speculate it to be a reaction to the move that is made by MI. Like all the Rohit fans, even Yadav was probably unaware of the move from MI, which might have probably hurt him. The criticism from the fans seems to be valid, as Rohit was one of the best IPL captains and probably deserved a better treatment, while some fans appreciated the professionalism that MI team showed in IPL.
