Arshdeep Singh has not had the best of comebacks in the Indian Team from his injury. He has been leaking runs and has not been at his best in the death overs. His name was doing the rounds on social media again as he lost the plot in the last over against Daryl Mitchell. He had a bad day at the office as he conceded 1/51 in his four overs.

In the 18th over he picked up two wickets and conceded just two runs but in the 20th over he failed to nail his yorkers and went the distance against an in-form Daryl Mitchell who made 59 off 30 balls with three fours and five sixes. In the 20th over, the left-arm pacer conceded two sixes off the first ball which was also a no ball. He then conceded a six and four and also a couple of twos in the last two balls to end on 27.

The main reason behind no balls is because of the longer run-up – Mohammed Kaif

In the game against Sri Lanka at Pune in the second T20I. He conceded a whopping 37 runs in his two overs. He bowled five no balls in that game which became the joint most by a bowler from a full member side and also the highest no of no balls conceded by an Indian bowler. He has not been the same bowler he once was before getting injured.

Mohammed Kaif went into the details to get the root cause of the left-arm pacer bowling no-balls. “Arshdeep has a longer run-up which itself means he might face stepping issues. He’s also wasting energy there. So, the main reason behind those over-stepped no-balls is his long run-up. And as he changes side too much, sometimes round the wicket, sometimes over. So, he needs to work on the basics and stay a bit relaxed. He is a good bowler but didn’t have a great day,” Kaif said in an interaction with Star Sports.

Arshdeep will look to sort out his troubles and come back with a bang as he is looked at as India’s premier bowler at the death with his ability to bowl yorkers and also change of pace. He also provides the Men in Blue with a left-arm option which helps in bringing variety to the Indian pace battery. Let us take a look at the reactions on Twitter.
