The T20I series involving India and West Indies has been very riveting to watch. The Men in Maroon won the first two games were won by the West Indies. India came storming back in the last two to leave the series tied at 2-2. The decider will be played at Lauderhill in the USA. Virat Kohli is not a part of the T20I squad due to workload management ahead of the World Cup in India. Over the years Kohli has left-everyone spellbound with his game-changing performances.

Meanwhile, Kohli found a massive fanboy in Ian Bishop who hailed Kohli for the great impact that he had on cricket due to his batting and charisma. Bishop reckoned there are many outside India who switch on the TV to watch him. “We have to give a lot of credit to Virat Kohli for the global impact he has. Many people outside India turn on their TV just to see Kohli’s batting,” the former West Indian bowler added. Bishop then went a step further to say that he has put his money on Kohli to be the highest run-scorer in the World Cup in India.

The Asia Cup will be played in the ODI format ahead of World Cup 2023

Kohli played only one ODI in the three-match ODI series in the Caribbean. He will not be playing the three-match T20I series against Ireland. The next biggest assignment for Kohli will be the Asia Cup which will be held in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Then India will play an ODI series at home against Australia just before the start of the tournament. Kohli has been in good nick in ODIs and has shown the art of acing the chase over a long period of time.

India will be hosting the ODI World Cup for the fourth time. The Men in Blue will want to repeat history as they did in 2011. India have not won a World event since the Champions Trophy in England in 2013. Rohit Sharma will hope that his men can deliver for the boisterous Indian fans who badly want a world event back in Indian cricket.
