‘Ise khete hai comeback’ – Fans react as India win third T20I by 7 wickets and open their account in 5-match series against West Indies

India and West Indies locked horns against each other in the third T20I in Guyana. The Men in Maroon won the toss and chose to bat. West Indies got off to a great start as Kyle Mayers hit 25 off 20 balls with three fours and one six. He was the first wicket to fall when he was caught by Arshdeep Singh off Kuldeep Yadav. Johnson Charles was the next man to go as he was lbw to Kuldeep. Despite losing early wickets Brandon King hit a run a ball 42 with five fours and one six.

Nicholas Pooran came in at number 4 and smashed a quickfire 20 off 12 balls with two fours and one six. He was stumped by Sanju Samson off Kuldeep with the score at 105. After Pooran fell, King was next to go as Kuldeep pulled out a good catch off his own bowling and the West Indies were in disarray at 106-4. Hetmyer came and went after making 9 off 8 balls with one four. He was caught by Tilak Varma off Mukesh Kumar. West Indies skipper Rovman Powell did not give up as he cracked an unbeaten 40 off 19 balls with one fours and three sixes.

The Men in Maroon got to 159-5 in their 20 overs. Kuldeep was India’s best bowler as he took 3-28 in his four overs. In the second innings, debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal fell to Obed McCoy off his second ball. Shubman Gill followed suit after a painstaking  11 off 6 balls with one four. The Middle order stepped up as Suryakumar Yadav smoked the West Indies bowlers all over Guyana as he made a sublime 83 off 44 balls with 10 fours and four sixes.

Suyakumar received great support from Varma as he hit an unbeaten 49 off 37 balls with four fours and one six. The Andhra lad stayed till the end. Skipper Hardik Pandya finished things off with an unbeaten 20 off 15 balls with one four and one six. India showed that they are not ready to go down without a fight and have all to play for in USA.
