Stuart Broad took a blinder to get rid of Kagiso Rabada on the third day of the ongoing 1st Test at Lord’s. The big fast bowler is known for his athletic fielding efforts and can take the high catches because of his tall reach.

South Africa resumed the third day of the first Test with 289 for the loss of seven wickets. Matthew Potts marched in to pick up a scalp on the third ball of the first over of the day. Kagiso Rabada then tried to pull Matt Potts’s short ball only to mistime it.

Rabada tried to pull it over Broad, who was stationed at wide mid-on but it could not escape the bucket hands of Stuart Broad. Broad took a blinder and it left the commentators in awe of the catch.

The Commentators on air showered praise on Broad for the catch and they were quite thrilled about it. Broad had very little reaction time to complete the catch. The tall quick flew airborne and snapped the catch. These blinders have been taken because of the increased fitness levels and the athleticism of the players, particularly the fast bowlers.

The State of the Match

England did not fare well with the bat in the 1st Innings. They were rocked by Rabada’s 5-for. He used the swinging conditions to his advantage and skittled England down to a low score of 165 runs. Nortje, with his rapid speeds caused, trouble to the batters as well.

He picked up 3 scalps and the big tall left-arm fast bowler, Marco Jansen put his name on the scoresheet by getting 2 wickets. The pacer troubled the batsman with the extra bounce generated due to his height. In the second innings, South Africa got a vital lead of a 161 runs. The proteas managed to score 326 runs before getting bundled out in the second innings.
