India’s injury woes have deepened as star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja who will miss the second Test against England starting tomorrow in Vizag, is also likely to be ruled out of the third Test in Ranchi beginning February 15th. This news comes as a major blow to the Indian team, who are already reeling from the absence of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.
Jadeja sustained a hamstring injury while batting on the fourth day of the first Test in Hyderabad, which India lost by a narrow margin of 28 runs. Initial reports suggested he might be available for the Rajkot Test but according to a report by Cricbuzz, it will be nothing short of ‘remarkable’ if Jadeja manages to recover in time for the 4th game in Ranchi.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami who was sent to London to get his ankle issues resolved is likely to miss out on the entirety of the series. KL Rahul though, is expected to be available for the third game and it is understood that his exclusion from the squad for the 2nd Test was actually a precautionary measure by the Indian Cricket Board, considering that he is one of the most important members of the side.
