The Indian T20 League mini-auction is almost upon us with just a few hours left for the first bid to be made. With 405 players to be auctioned in the event, all teams would be scrambling to finalise their strategy and do well from the auction table.
The first 86 players will be certain of auction call-ups but the rest 319 will be called in an accelerated process based on the requirements of the teams.
Let’s look at some of the important information about the upcoming Indian T20 League auction.
The Indian T20 League auction is taking place in Kerala for the first time. The event will take place at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Kochi on Friday, December 23.
The Indian T20 League auction will begin at 2:30 PM IST on Friday, 23rd December. The event could reach its conclusion around 9:30 PM IST on the same day.
UK’s Hugh Edmeades took over from Richard Madley in 2018. He will be back for the Indian T20 League auction this time around as well. On the first day of the Indian T20 League auction, he collapsed on the floor due to ‘postural hypotension’. Charu Sharma had to fill in for Edmeades while he received medical care.
