8Bit Creatives has now revealed its new streaming partner platform. Their previous streaming partner Loco will now be replaced by Rooter. All the content streaming will now be shifted to a new platform.

As per the reports, Rooter currently has over 16 million active users and brings in thousands of viewers. With the addition of popular streamers from 8bit, the platform plans to attract even more users. Many other streamers from other popular esports org like SouL also partnered with Rooter.

According to the official statement from 8Bit CEO, Animesh Agarwal, the move was done keeping the gaming creator economy in mind. “We aim to create an immersive and unparalleled gaming experience for millions of fans across the nation,” he said.

Why switch platforms?

The main reason for individuals switching platforms is to usually try out new horizons. As for an organization, it can be due to better partnership deals or the previously mentioned reason.

Another big reason could be the organisation is looking for more growth. Since Rooter brings in more viewers, the organisation may also be planning to grow further. It is clear that both parties also plan to maximize their profits at a time when gaming is skyrocketing.

What does the platform change mean for the fans?

At the surface level, it is not much of a huge change to fans. Those who enjoy and want to watch their streamers play will switch platforms and watch them there. However, the problem comes with the stream timings. If the stream overlaps with others, it will create a divide among fans.

Overall, it is likely that people may switch platforms, leaving Loco with a disadvantage. Especially at times when Loco already seems to be struggling a bit in terms of user base and views.
