Indian Cricket Board Secretary Jay Shah trolled mercilessly by netizens on refusing to hold the national flag

India defeated eternal rivals Pakistan by five wickets in the Asia Cup 2022 encounter on Sunday in a last-over thriller. In a game full of ebbs and flows, the Men in Blue stood tall. The enthusiasm of cricket lovers across the country knew no bounds. The fans at the stadiums and on social media just went berserk after the Rohit Sharma-led side clinched the victory.

The likes of Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Ravindra Jadeja to name a few played important roles in leading their team to a win. Pandya, who was the Player of the Match for his all-round performance, sealed the game for India with a six off the fourth delivery of the final over.

The instant when the six was hit, the jubilation of Indian cricket fans started on the ground in Dubai.  The Indian fans celebrated and there was a huge chant of ‘India-India’ inside the stadium. The fans were seen waving the Indian flag in pride after the epic win.

Meanwhile, The Indian Cricket Board secretary and President of the Asian Cricket Council Jay Shah, who was also among the spectators in the stadium, was embroiled in a controversy. While the victory celebrations were going on, a person brought a tricolor flag to Shah.

However, he sent the man back without holding the tricolor. His video is currently going viral on social media. This has resulted in many netizens trolling the Indian Cricket Board President. The opposition leaders too took a dig at Jay, who is the son of Amit Shah, the Home Minister of the Country.

 

Talking about the match, the Indian bowlers restricted Pakistan to a score of 147 at the end of the first innings. For India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was sublime in his 4 overs, picking 4 for 26. Pandya bowled a game-changing spell in the middle overs, getting rid of three important players. Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh too were amongst the wickets.

In response to Men in Green’s 147 runs, Virat (35 off 34), Jadeja (35 off 29), and Hardik (33 off 17)  were instrumental in acing the chase for India.
