India have been superb in the shortest format of the game. They could win 13 consecutive T20I games on a trot if they manage to beat South Africa in the first of the five-match series, starting from 9 June 2022. Both teams had announced their squad earlier while India rested their key players such as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

Meanwhile, South Africa will look to make the most out of this series as that will help them to assess themselves leading up to the 20-20 World Cup later this year in Australia. Several players from both teams are coming off a very good Indian T20 League this year.

Here are the three predicted players for the leading wicket-taker of this series

Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal became the highest wicket-taker in this year’s Indian T20 League by scalping 27 wickets in 17 matches at an economy of 7.75. His form was instrumental in guiding Rajasthan to this year’s final. However, his franchise lost the final after failing to post a competitive total. This leggie bagged a hattrick and a five-wicket haul against the Kolkata franchise in a close-contested group stage match.

However, he has only managed to pick one wicket in two matches so far against the proteas. Hence, India will hope for a good show with his current form in this series.

Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada enjoyed another successful Indian T20 Leauge campaign for the Punjab-based franchise as he grabbed 23 wickets in 13 matches. He took those wickets by conceding runs at a rate of 8.45.

Rabada loves to play against India in this format as he has picked up four wickets in four matches at an economy rate of 7.53. His form will be crucial for South Africa to defeat India on their home soil.

Harshal Patel

Harshal Patel was once again the main bowler in Bangalore’s bowling lineup in the 2022 edition. He bagged 19 wickets in 15 matches at an economy of 7.66.

In eight international T20Is, he has picked 11 wickets at an economy of 8.51. His variations can come in handy for Team India in this series to get better off the Proteas.
