Rahul Dravid issues statement on Ravindra Jadeja

After losing the first Test in Hyderabad, Rahul Dravid stated Ravindra Jadeja. The 35-year-old is reported to be suffering from a hamstring injury which could hamper India in the next game.

Rahul Dravid while addressing the press said “We’ll see. I honestly haven’t had a chance to speak to the physio as yet. Once I get back, I’ll speak to him and see what it is about”. It is yet to be decided if Jadeja will travel with the team to Visakhapatnam.

Speaking about the game, Rahul Dravid lamented about the inability to score a century. KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Ravindra Jadeja scored half-centuries in the first innings. Despite taking a lead of 190, India didn’t manage to win the game.

“We didn’t get a hundred, you know, we didn’t get somebody getting a really big hundred for us. So, in some ways, in India, I just felt we left those 70, 80 runs back in the hut in the first innings. Second innings is always going to be challenging. It’s one of those things that, you know, it’s tough. It’s not easy to chase 230 or it’s not done very often,”

Ben Stokes called the win the greatest of his career as his side now holds a 1-0 lead. The English skipper pulled off an amazing run-out to get rid of Jadeja. This was the first time n his Test Career that Ravindra Jadeja has got run-out.
