The Men in Blue are set to face the West Indies in their upcoming white-ball tour to the Caribbean nation. This tour involves three ODIs and five T20Is respectively.  West Indies will want to prove a point against India and start the ODI series on a winning note. On the other hand, the Men In Blue will look to continue the good form in the short formats following a successful tour of England.

The West Indian coach Phil Simmons is pretty upbeat about The chances of the West Indies against the men in blue and he is confident that the West Indies will be able to hold their own and mount a strong challenge to the Men in Blue.

“I’m not happy that Virat Kohli isn’t part of the tour, because you wanna play against the best players. Guys would’ve loved to play against Virat, we’re a bit disappointed,” said Phil Simmons, while speaking to veteran journalist Vimal Kumar.

Phil Simmons openly expressed his disappointment with Virat Kohli not playing in the series involving in West Indies. He went on to say that the West Indies have missed a chance of playing with the best players and he is disappointed because top players like Virat Kohli are not taking part in the series.

The Coach of the West Indies said the team will look to play well against India and put aside the disappointing series that they had against Bangladesh. He said that the team is hurt because of the way they have played their cricket so far and the team wants to start off on a clean slate and play good cricket against India.

“The bowling and the fielding has been improving daily. We rank ourselves very highly on the fielding. The bowling, we had a couple of games on those wickets where people might say we should’ve gotten more wickets, but the wicket got better every time we fielded because they had put out the second roller on it, and it had dried out from earlier in the day,” he said, as quoted by Times Now.

The coach of the West Indies said that everybody goes through ups and downs and it is the same with Virat Kohli. He stated that Kohli is a player who has a phenomenal record and that the public in India who are criticizing him want him to do well. The Windies coach said that the Indian batter will comeback to his dominant self and that everybody faces criticism at the international level.

“Virat’s record says that he is one of the best of all time. Criticisms are everywhere. I’m sure people want him to do well all the time and nobody can do things well all the time,” he added.
