‘Idols toh sahi chune hai tune’ – Fans react to Mohammad Haris’ wish to play all formats for Pakistan, as Rishabh Pant
Pakistan’s promising wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris expressed his ambition to play in all three formats of the game, citing the examples of players like Adam Gilchrist of Australia and India’s Rishabh Pant.
“I play at a fast rate doesn’t mean that I’m only suited to T20 cricket”: Mohammad Harris
In an interview with Geo News, Haris stated to have been working on being more patient when in the crease as a batter. Haris stated that he does not intend to exclusively specialise in T20 but rather play in all forms.
Harris said, “I want to play all formats for Pakistan. Just because I play at a fast rate doesn’t mean that I’m only suited to T20 cricket. Players like Rishabh Pant play at the same pace in all formats of the game. Even Adam Gilchrist in the past used to do the same.”
Mohammed Harris spoke about the competition within the team and spoke about how he is trying to get into the team. He said, “Rizwan is the first choice as wicketkeeper for the Pakistan team. There is always stiff competition for the role of a wicketkeeper in a team, which is precisely the reason why I’m trying to become a better fielder so that I can play in the team purely as a batter.”
He added, “Pakistan’s fast bowlers are the best in the world which helps us a lot during the training sessions. During the T20 World Cup, playing our bowlers made it easier for me to face the opponents’ pacers.”
The right-hander also discussed how confronting Pakistan’s pacers in the nets had a favourable effect on his batting. He said, “I need to become more patient as a batter and this is something I’m working on in the ongoing training camp. I can hit fours and sixes but I need to add singles and doubles to my game as well. I’m working on improving my ground shots.

Rishabh Pant is excellent in test but average in ODI and in T20 he is not a good batsman he is showing different form to different formats because of his technique he is a very good player of spin but has a weakness of offside against pace bowlers

The way guy played on his Wc debut game vs Rabada and Nortje, there is something in him, but he has a lot of work to do.
