With her captivating rendition of Miley Cyrus’ hit song Flowers, for which the pop sensation even won a Grammy this year, renowned singer Usha Uthup has taken the internet by storm. The song’s rendition by the legendary Indian musician has gone viral, winning fans’ appreciation and praise. Uthup says after being overwhelmed by the responses, “I am so thrilled and grateful to the people for loving my version as well. I just sang the song because I stumbled upon it one day, thanks to my daughter Anjali. I was enamoured with the song the moment I heard it.”

Usha Uthup gets candid:

Uthup tells us describing the song’s immense appeal, “I’ve been singing it in all my shows and everybody loves it so much. I was ecstatic to learn that my cover version was receiving such positive feedback. It never occurred to me that it would appear on Instagram. Thank you so much to everyone who has written such wonderful things about my cover! People actually said they could relate to the song more because my voice made me very happy.”

The seasoned singer emphasised, “Girls, boys, men, women, and even children are loving this song so much. It’s really great; the success has lifted my spirits. I was inspired by the song because it’s so lovely and has such amazing lyrics. Although it’s a different kind of breakup song, in my opinion, it celebrates women’s power. I always close it with the phrase, ‘I can’t do without your love,’ since I need the audience’s affection.”

The 76-year-old says, expressing her admiration for Miley Cyrus and her recent Grammy win for the song, “I am so excited for Miley Cyrus for getting the Grammy for this song. I’m excited for her to hear the song and I hope she enjoys it. We will undoubtedly collaborate soon.”
