‘I think this league will be in the top five’ – Cristiano Ronaldo makes astonishing claims regarding Saudi Pro League

In addition to reiterating his assertion that the Saudi league might be among the finest in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo also offered an intriguing clue about his future. After a dramatic departure from Manchester United in December, the Portuguese forward moved to the Gulf state. He signed a £173 million contract with Al-Nassr, and he has had a successful first season with the team. Ronaldo has notched 14 goals in 18 games. With the help of his most recent goal, Al-Nassr were able to defeat Al-Shabab 3-2 and remain in the running for the Saudi championship.

Ronaldo was earlier this year connected with a quick departure from Al-Nassr amid rumours that he wished to rejoin old team Real Madrid. The Spanish heavyweights were ready to help arrange an emotional reunion, but only on an ambassadorial level. 

The agreement that Ronaldo signed with Al-Nassr has two more years to run. Should he continue, he would soon be facing off against longtime foe Lionel Messi. The Argentine is expected to quit PSG this summer when his contract expires. Messi’s homecoming to the Camp Nou through a move to his old team Barcelona is still being discussed.

Cristiano Ronaldo first spoke about his team’s amazing comeback in their league game against Al-Shabab. He said, “We are so happy, the team do a fantastic game. 2-0 is very, very difficult but we believe until the end and we score three goals so congratulations to the whole team and the supporters were amazing today, so we are very happy.”

The Portugal captain then discussed the future of the Saudi Pro League and how it can be in the top leagues of the world. He said, “Step by step I think this league will be in the top five leagues in the world but they need time, they need players, they need infrastructure but I believe that this country has amazing potential. They have amazing people and the league will be great in my opinion.”
