The Pakistan Cricket Board has been sent into disarray after Ramiz Raja was fired on December 22. The unceremonious exit made heatwaves in the cricket world as Raja was viewed as a highly supported chairman in world cricket.

It appears that the shock has been similarly intense for Raja as well who has been slamming the board from left right and centre. He has raised questions about the legitimacy of the process that brought in new chairman Najam Sethi.

In his various public interviews and youtube videos, he has spoken at length about the ‘unfair’ decision to sack him. The two have also clashed on social media claiming one to be better than the other.

Today, another page seems to have added to the ongoing feud with questions now being asked about Raja’s use of PCB funds. In an interview, the former chairman was asked about spending Rs 1.65 Crore for a bulletproof car to which Raja had to clarify.

“That car is with PCB. I didn’t buy that. My successor can also use it. I received death threat. You can’t get a bullet-proof car until you face a death threat. That’s why I had it,” Ramiz told the journalist.

Can’t reveal the details- Raja

Ramiz Raja has also said that he cannot reveal further details on the issue since they are confidential.

“I can’t reveal the details about it (the threat). But it has been there since Australia came to Pakistan in March 2022. DIG sahab came to my home, there was a whole report that was made. That’s why I bought it,” said the former PCB chairman.

The Pakistan team faced a heartbreaking year as they lost in the Asia Cup 2022 final to Sri Lanka and the 20-20 World Cup final to England. Furthermore, their misery was even compounded when the England Test team complete a whitewash in the 3-match Test series in Pakistan.

Currently, they are playing a two-match Test series against New Zealand at home. The first of which was a draw. The second is scheduled to start on January 2nd.
