Speaking openly on a podcast, Shikhar Dhawan emphasised that his post was not about pain, but rather about expressing his inner views. He published it to send love to his kid after five months of no communication, hoping to prevent transferring bad energy, and he didn’t expect the message to become viral, emphasising that it was a sincere gesture. Furthermore, Dhawan expressed hope that his kid, in this technological age, would see his post and wish him happy. While profoundly caring about him, Dhawan admits to being emotionally distant, emphasising the wish not to create a bond.

“I was not in pain. I was just expressing my thoughts. It has been five months since I have spoken to him, I was just expressing emotions. I am an emotional guy, and I was just trying to send love to him, because if I will be sad while thinking about him that negative energy will get him. I never realized that this post would go viral. I just wrote it from my heart,” Dhawan said candid conversation on the Humans of Bombay podcast.

“I wrote it in the expectation that in an age of technology, my kid would read my message. Wherever he is, I hope he is happy. Perhaps one day he will come to see me. I am in love with him, yet I also feel disconnected. “I don’t want to push him,” he added.

In last year Shikhar Dhawan got separated from Ayesha Mukherjee, stated that he sends texts to Zoravar every day without knowing whether they reach him. Despite the uncertainties, he indicated acceptance of the situation, and for the time he is simply attempting to complete all his obligations to Zoaravar as his father.

Dhawan’s story connected with many fans, prompting an outpouring of support. Shikhar Dhawan who will captain the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the forthcoming 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), underlined the obstacles he faces not only in cricket but also in his personal life, revealing a side of himself that extends beyond the cricket field.
