Serena Williams, on Monday, said that she has not called it quits on competitive Tennis and that she has a ‘‘very high’’ chance of returning to the court after she had given a sign that she would bid adieu to the sport after she crashed out of the US Open held in September.

The 41-year-old said that she was ‘‘evolving away from Tennis’’ in an essay in August. She gave no confirmed signals that the US Open would be her final swansong in Tennis. She was given rich tributes after each match finished in New York. The Tennis ace waved an emotional goodbye after losing in the first round.

“I am not retired,” Williams said at a conference in San Francisco while promoting her investment company, Serena Ventures. “The chances (of a return) are very high. You can come to my house; I have a court.”

The 23-time grand slam champion made the world take notice of her and her exploits reached far and wide when she was a teenager. She became the talk of the town even in her formative years.

I still have not thought of retirement – Serena Williams

She is considered the greatest of all time by many, and she said that a void was felt when she did not have a tournament to prepare for after the U.S Open. She has played in competitions all her life and when she thought of this she felt strange about not playing in a tournament.

“I still haven’t thought about (retirement),” Williams said. “But I did wake up the other day and go on the court and (considered) for the first time in my life that I’m not playing for a competition, and it felt really weird. “It was like the first day of the rest of my life and I’m enjoying it, but I’m still trying to find that balance.”

She is known for her powerful serve and forceful groundstrokes, and she is famous for hitting a great number of winners.
