He has scored 3982 runs in Test matches at an average of 38.92 with twelve Test hundreds.  He made his debut in 2008 in Tests against Australia. His famous knocks include 97 against South Africa at Durban and 95 against England at Lords in 2014 among others.

‘I feel you are peaking in your 30s’- Murali Vijay

“I am almost done with Indian Cricket Board and looking for opportunities abroad. I want to play a little bit of competitive cricket,” Vijay told WV Raman on Wednesdays with WV, a weekly show on SportStar.

The right-handed batter said that the Indian Cricket board looks at sports person’s differently once they cross the age of 30.

“After 30 in India, it’s a taboo (smiles). I think people see us as 80-year-olds walking on the street. The media should also address it differently. I feel you are peaking in your 30s.”  “Sitting here right now, I feel I can bat the best way I can. But unfortunately, the opportunities were less, and I had to search for chances outside. I honestly feel as a person, you can only do what’s in your hand. You can’t control the uncontrollable. Whatever happened, happened,” Vijay added.

Murali Vijay has scored 2619 runs in Indian T20 League. He has got a highest score of 127 while playing for the Chennai franchise in a high scoring match against the Rajasthan franchise. He has also played for teams like Delhi and Punjab in the Indian T20 league.
