After beating Mumbai Indians in their last home game Lucknow Super Giants is now set to face Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Ahead of the much-awaited game, LSG launched a new jersey for their last league game. In a tribute to the Football club Mohun Bagan Krunal Pandya and the company will Don this special jersey on May 20th.

In an event, LSG skipper Krunal Pandya and Nicholas Pooran unveiled the jersey. Notably, LSG owner Sanjeev Goenka is a major stockholder in the Mohun Bagan athletics club. As a result, it is expected that LSG will wear the special shirt in honour of the Mariners. In his press conference, Sanjeev said, “Mohun Bagan is an institution, and we are paying tribute to the century-old institution this Saturday when we will play against KKR. We will Don the iconic Green and Maroon of Mohun Bagan this Saturday.”

It’s worth noting that Mohun Bagan, formerly ATK Mohun Bagan, defeated Bengaluru FC in the ISL finals and went on to win the famous trophy. Sanjeev Goenka went on to announce after the final win that the team will go by a new name, namely Mohun Bagan Super Giants (MBSG), from the upcoming football season, amid fan protests to remove the name ‘ATK’.

LSG set to face KKR in a do-or-die game

In a do-or-die game, Lucknow Super Giants is set to face Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on May 20. A victory in this game will ensure them a spot in Qualifier 1 against Gujarat Titans. On the other hand, if they lose they will need to rely on other results. LSG playing without KL Rahul has been one of the most inconsistent teams of the season.

Though, they beat Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians in their last home game. The team didn’t look good enough to win the game. Krunal Pandya and Co need to play good cricket to participate in the playoffs. However, KKR has their fate in their hand a win here might alive their chances to qualify but it should be a big win.
