‘Harsha sir next time Rohit ko Vada Pav de do’- Fans react as Bhogle gives burger to UP’s Grace Harris in WTL

In the Women’s T20 League, a heartwarming incident took place. The voice of Indian cricket, Harsha Bhogle had a special gift from UP batter, Grace Harris after the match against Delhi. Harris was gifted a burger by Bhogle, at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on March 7 on Tuesday.

The gesture took place after Harris played an unbelievable innings against Gujarat and helped her side win from an unlikely position at 105-7. Harris scored 59 off 26 balls with seven fours and three sixes. Harris revealed that her go-to food is Burgers and in India, she thought that she would have to eat just Butter Chicken instead.

“Don’t know where I’ll find some burgers in India. Maybe some butter chicken,” she said on Jio Cinema. Harris played a superb innings and scored at a strike rate of 226.92 to help the UP side win by three wickets. The Australian batter shared a match-winning partnership with Sophie Ecclestone for the eighth wicket.

Meg Lanning scored a superb 70 off 42 balls against UP

In the game against Delhi, Harris was given a break. Delhi won the game by 42 runs as the Delhi batters ruled the roost with runs on the board. The Delhi side scored 211-4 in their 20 overs. Meg Lanning was the star batter as he scored 70 off 42 balls with 10 fours and three sixes. For UP Tahlia Mcgrath scored 90 off 50 balls with 11 fours and three sixes but that heroic innings was not enough. 

The Women’s T20 league has been a wonderful platform for the top Women cricketers around the world who have come to India and showcased their skills on the biggest of stages. The Big Bash was the Premier tournament in Australia and now the Women’s T20 League has shown the potential that it is indeed here to stay.

The women’s T20 League had a historic broadcast rights deal signed by Jio Cinema and also the right bids of the five teams went for astronomical amounts of money.
