The Captain roster for the upcoming Legends League Cricket was completed on Friday as the last two franchise named their captains for the upcoming tournament. The 2011 World Cup winner Harbhajan Singh has been chosen to lead the Manipal- Group owner Manipal Tigers team. Meanwhile, Irfan Pathan, the former India all-rounder, will captain the LNJ Bhilwara Group’s, Bhilwara King.
Harbhajan and Pathan have entertained cricket fans for years and the LLC will be a great opportunity for them to do that again. The Jalandhar-born player was the first Indian off-spinner player to take 400 wickets in Tests. He has also taken 269 wickets in ODIs and 150 wickets in Indian T20 League.
“Playing alongside all great players over the years, I have picked the nuances of the game which has made me a better cricketer. As a Cricketer, I did not get an opportunity to Captain the team but this will be something I am really looking forward to. I love leading from the front and I hope I can do justice to the responsibility and faith shown on me.” said Harbhajan Singh, captain of Manipal Tigers.
Pathan, who won the man of the match award during the historic final of the T20I World Cup in 2007, preferred to call himself a bowling allrounder. The Baroda express said, “You need to enjoy what you are doing and giving 100% to that effort is all that matters. This opportunity is unique but am confident we as a team will make some heads turn around. Watch out as we close on the team names for the draft.”

The second edition of the Legends League Cricket (LLC) is scheduled to begin on September 16th, 2022.
