‘Haan bhai aur thoda bohoooot khel bhi lena’ – Fans react as India skipper Rohit Sharma says he wants to create memories with his squad
The Indian team is set to depart for Sri Lanka on Tuesday. Ahead of the prestigious Asia Cup and ODI World Cup, the team will depart for Sri Lanka to start a two-month-long trophy quest. With up to 1.4 billion dreams together, team management and players need to stay motivated and hardworking to win the trophy. Meanwhile, India skipper Rohit Sharma seems fully relaxed, as he is not taking any pressure.
According to his recent talks with a media agency, Rohit said that in the next two months, he wants to create memories with this team. Avoiding outside noise, and Rohit and company will look to win each match to reach the top. Echoing the same, Rohit says that they will focus on one game at a time. Shouldering more than a billion dreams, Rohit knows what is at stake in the next two months, especially in the World Cup.
“For me, it is important to keep myself relaxed and not worry about external factors that play a role, whether positively or negatively. I want to shut out everything,” Rohit told PTI in an exclusive interview. “I want to get into the phase I was in before the 2019 World Cup,” Rohit further added. Notably, Rohit was the highest run scorer in the ODI World Cup 2019 with five centuries in nine innings.
“I want to revisit that thought process”, says Rohit Sharma.
Further speaking about his performance and experience at the last edition, Rohit says that he was well prepared for that tournament. “I was in a great frame of mind and prepared really well for the tournament. I was in good shape and had a good mindset, and I want to bring that back, and I have time to do that. Trying to recollect what the right things were that I was doing before the 2019 World Cup as a cricketer and as a person I want to revisit that thought process of mine personally,” the skipper said.
Further speaking about the impact and importance of the ODI World Cup, Rohit says that a tournament can’t change his mindset. He said, “A person can’t change overnight with his successes or failures. I don’t think one result or one championship can change me as a person. I have not changed as a person in the last 16 years, and I don’t think anything needs to change on that front. The focus will be on how I can achieve my goals in the next two months for myself and my team. A person can’t change in a period of one or two months.”

Jaddu and Pandya’s BOWLING form will be the most crucial thing for 🇮🇳 in the next two months for getting Shardul into the XI for extra batting depth.
