GLT20 Canada Squads, Venues, Icon layers, All you need to know

There are two new entrants for this edition of the league.

All the cricket-loving fans of Canada who were starved of cricket action for some time can now rejoice as the GLT20 comes back to Canadian shores. The GLT20 is set to begin late in July. The tournament has been widely watched all over the world in its previous editions. In one of the editions a West Indies B team also featured in the tournament and won. Brampton will live and breathe cricket again as the tournament returns there.

Six franchises will be participating in the tournament. The latest teams who will join the party are Mississauga Panthers and Surrey Jaguars. The tournament starts from July 20 to August 6. Over an 18-day period, 25 matches will be played between all 6 teams.

This year the likes of Harbhajan Singh, Shoaib Malik, Chris Gayle and Andre Russell will be a part of the tournament. In the past, players like Yuvraj Singh, George Munsey, Shahid Afridi, Kieron Pollard, and Wahab Riaz have played in the competition.

Each squad comprises of 16 players from Full and ICC Associate Member Nations, featuring six international players (including two marquee stars), four players from Associate Nations, and six Canadians. The league has kept the cricket fever alive in Canada and its comeback comes as a big positive for the country.

Where will the GT20 happen?

The games will take place in Canada at Brampton Ontario. The format that will be followed is on the lines of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
