Pakistan cricket is going through a turbulent time at the moment. A back-to-back loss in the Asia Cup 2022 final as well as the 20-20 World Cup final has got the entirety of the board down. As a domino effect of the World Cup loss, Pakistan Cricket Board fired their chairman Ramiz Raza as well.

Recently England’s Test team visited Pakistan after a gap of 17 years and thumped them 3-0 in an embarrassing fashion. The Babar Azam-led side are in grave danger of being termed as the also-rans in cricket.

With hopes of getting their cricket back on track, the Pakistan Test team went against New Zealand in a 2 match Test series. After their top-order batters failed, Babar Azam and Agha Salman took the team to a huge total. The Pakistan bowlers would have hoped to wrap up the New Zealand side for a small total and finally win a Test match after 3-0 thrashing.

The Kiwi batters however were up for it on Day 2 as well as Day 3. Opener batters Tom Latham (113) and Devon Conway (92) took the Pakistan bowlers to task and made a mockery of the wicket stringing a 183-run partnership for the first wicket.

The former captain who has been going through a rough patch of form finally came good after coming on Number 3. The right-hand batter made 105 off 222 and remained not out at the end of Day 3. Daryl Mitchell (42) and Tom Blundell (47) also helped the team get past Pakistan’s 438 with half of the wicket lost.

The Kiwis are currently 446/6 at the end of Day 3 with Williamson (105) and Ish Sodhi (1) at the crease. With just two days of the match left, the game looks to be heading towards a draw.

It would be interesting to see if New Zealand declare the innings of play aggressively on Day 4th. The game saw a return to the form of Williamson and many cricket fans were excited about that.

Let’s see how Twitter reacted to Pakistan vs New Zealand’s Day 3.
