The World Cup has just three days left to start. Teams are practicing in full flow ahead of the mega event. Ahead of the mega event, Gautam Gambhir shared his views about batting superstars Rohit Sharma and Babar Azam in the lead-up to the World Cup. A few weeks back he met Bollywood actor Shah Rukh, co-owner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Speculations were made that the former KKR skipper is ready to join back as a mentor for the Kolkata-based franchise.

Gambhir previously shared his views by backing Babar Azam’s belief that the Pakistan captain’s ability to set the upcoming World Cup on fire with his skills. He is also convinced that Rohit Sharma can end India’s 12-year wait for a World Cup trophy. India last won a major trophy under MS Dhoni’s captaincy. They last won the Champions Trophy in 2013.

With India hosting the World Cup, they are no doubt the favourites to win the mega event at home. Pakistan arrived in India last week Wednesday for the ODI World Cup 2023. They played their first warm-up match against the previous edition’s finalist New Zealand. They were beaten in their first warm-up game as they could not defend a high-scoring total of 346 runs.

I think he will score three or four centuries for Pakistan in this World Cup: Gautam Gambhir

Speaking to Star Sports ahead of India’s second warm-up match against the Netherlands. Gambhir stated the exceptional batting record of the skipper.  Rohit has an average of 58.42. India’s all-format captain has amassed 4,148 runs in 80 One Day Internationals (ODIs) at home. He said, “The kind of ability he has. India are playing the World Cup at home.”

“We all know about Rohit Sharma’s record at home. He has three or four double hundreds. So I’m sure he will be really looking forward to and he will be eager to turn it around for India.” He further added, “The kind of technique Babar Azam has, I think he will score three or four centuries for Pakistan in this World Cup.”
