On its opening day, ticket booth sales for Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon’s action movie, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, were slow. In India, the movie took in ₹2.50 crore on Friday, according to preliminary earnings that Sacnilk.com reported. Though it did not perform as well as Divya Khosla Kumar’s Yaariyan 2, the movie nonetheless opened alongside it.

According to the report, Ganapath’s occupancy for the Hindi programmes on Friday was 9.72%. Director Vikas Bahl and co-producer Jackky Bhagnani are both backing the project. Tiger Shroff plays the title character of an “immortal” mercenary in the highly anticipated future movie Ganapath. Amitabh Bachchan is portrayed as his grandfather. Similar to Tiger, Kriti Sanon features in multiple action scenes in the movie.

Tiger Shroff fails to make big numbers:

Critics gave Ganapath varying degrees of favourable to poor reviews. Although Ganapath had hoped for at least an 8 crore opening and, in the worst case scenario, a 4 to 5 crore opening, it is opening in the same range as Mission Raniganj and Selfiee. According to sources, the anticipated budget for making the film is 150 crores, including funding. For Ganapath to be considered a hit, it must surpass 160 crores, while for it to be considered an average, it must surpass 150 crores.

On October 20, Ganapath debuted in theatres, bringing viewers to a story of intense action. Guddu, played by Tiger Shroff, changes into Ganapath. A mercenary sent on a mission to defend his people against a dangerous syndicate headed by the mysterious Dalini. The lacklustre collecting numbers could also be related to Vijay’s ‘Leo,’ which attracted a lot of attention and was released all over the world. ‘Ganapath’ has to contend with fierce competition as well as a slew of unfavourable reviews, which makes it difficult for the movie to break even financially. The next few days will tell if ‘Ganapath’ can bounce back from this early setback and start to pick up steam at the box office.

Regretfully, ‘Ganapath’ is Tiger Shroff’s least successful box office debut to date. Prior to ‘Ganapath,’ his previous movie, ‘Heropanti,’ had the lowest opening day gross of Rs 6.50 crore.
