Cricketers are often treated as celebrities in India. After proving their worth in cricket, several cricketers have changed their careers by coming into politics.  Because of their popularity, they enter politics and try to bring change in society.

Going into politics is not very difficult in India. They try to influence people with their cricket career. After taking retirement from cricket many cricketers have joined political parties. Here are the Top 5 Indian cricketers who turned politicians:

In February 2021 ahead of the state legislative assembly elections, Manoj Tiwary joined the Trinamool Congress. A political party that is active in West Bengal. He won a seat in the Shibpur constituency. Manoj Tiwary is a minister of state for the Affairs of Sports Youth. Manoj Tiwary plays for Bengal in domestic cricket. In the 2022 Ranji Trophy semi-final against Madhya Pradesh, he scored a century.

He has scored over 9398 runs in first-class cricket and 5466 runs in List-A matches. He has also represented India in 12 ODI games and has one century and a half-century.
