India beat New Zealand by 8 wickets to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series against New Zealand. They skittled out the Kiwis for just 108 runs and chased the target down in 20.1 overs. However, Rohit Sharma was trending on social media even as the toss happened as he forgot what he wanted to do after the Men in Blue won the toss.

After the coin was flipped, he took a long pause in the presence of match referee Javagal Srinath and New Zealand skipper Tom Latham on being asked by Ravi Shastri what he wanted to opt for. He said that he forgot what he wanted to do. Similar to the incident an old video of Pakistan skipper Javed Miandad has been doing the rounds on social media. Just like Rohit, he could not decide what to do after winning the toss.

In the video that has been trending, the Pakistan skipper is seen as dazed and dumbfounded on not being able to come to a conclusion. The presenter said to him “Javed, You have won the toss, what are you going to do?” and he replies “I don’t know, I’ll just go inside and I’ll let you know.” It was a deja vu of what Rohit did all these years later at the toss.

Here are the videos

India have taken a 2-0 lead in the ODI series against New Zealand

India won the first ODI on the back of Shubman Gill’s monumental double hundred. He made 208 off 149 balls with 19 fours and 9 sixes at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium in Hyderabad. Where India made 349-8 batting first and then in reply, New Zealand got to 337 on the back of Michael Bracewell’s stunning 140 off 78 balls with 12 fours and 10 sixes. India eventually won by 12 runs.

In the second ODI, the bowlers put on a great show and did not allow the Kiwis to complete their 50 overs while batting as they were dismissed in just 34.3 overs. With the target, not one to bother India, the Men in Blue completed the job in 20.1 overs thanks to 51 off 50 balls with seven fours and two sixes from Rohit and an unbeaten 40 off 53 balls with six fours from Gill.
